New Bangladesh coach aims for steadiness
stuart says to improve his
icc ranking in both department

Bangladesh's new coach Stuart Law says steadiness, constancy and unity will be key to the country's bid to get better its Test and one-day ICC Rankings.

Bangladesh, who unsuccessful to be eligible for the World Cup quarterfinals this year, is at present a lowly ninth in both Test and one-day ICC Ranking.

"We want to have steadiness and constancy and that is what we struggle for. The main cause why you are not reliable is because you are not sure of your role in the team," the Australian tells journalists in Dhaka on Monday.

"If I can have a huge association with the selectors, the captain and the Bangladesh cricket board, then I am certain we can have reliable things happening.

"It's been recognized the steadiest relationship at the top usually provides the best surroundings and the players play improved cricket."

Stuart Law, who replaces compatriot Jamie Siddons, thought: "The face for us is to make Bangladesh the team they believe they should be.

"It's not about what I believe they should be, but what they wait for from themselves. If they believe they should be up to fifth, sixth or seventh in the world, I believe that is where we be supposed to aim at."

Stuart Law, 42, who was Sri Lanka's interim coach on a current tour of England, thought the focus would be on togetherness.

"My point of view is to play as a team because it is a team sport. I know a lot depends on individuals in the game of cricket, but if everybody is working on the similar goal, it makes life a lot easier," he thought.

Stuart Law, who played one Test and 54 one-day internationals for Australia, added: "I am still very young as a coach and it is a great chance for me to learn with some of the most brilliant cricketers on the planet.

"Expectantly, the knowledge I have gained in first-class cricket I can impart a bit of that knowledge to the players so that they can grow to be as good as they can be."

Stuart Law's first task is the tour of Zimbabwe next month for a one-off Test and 5th one-day internationals.
